The “Club of 27” is an internationally known phenomenon, both terrifying and glamorous. Its “members” – artists amongst others such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain or Amy Winehouse – all died at the age of 27. I take up the motive of idols who died young and thus became immortal and relate it to the concepts of transience in the arts: works of fine art are made for eternity, but what about dance?
